Meal Plans

What type of Meal Plans do you offer?

We offer a variety of meal plans to meet your on-campus dining needs while saving you time and money!  Whether you want to enjoy dinner with your friends, or grab an extra cup of coffee while studying, our convenient locations and diverse menu offerings are ready to accommodate you. What type of Meal Plan is recommended?

We have a variety of meal plans to meet your needs! Depending on your class year, where you live, and how much you are on campus, our recommendations may vary. Be sure to use our filter and sort functions to help choose your plan. If you still need help choosing a plan, give us a call at 773-508-6028 or email us dine@luc.edu.

How can I purchase a Meal Plan?

When a resident student signs a housing contact, he/she will select a single meal plan.

 For non-resident students, meal plan request forms can be found on the Forms page. 

How do I use my Meal Plan?

Present your student ID card to the cashier in the dining hall, and you are all set!

Are Meal Plans required?

All undergraduate resident students at the Lakeshore Campus are required to have a meal plan per the Department of Residence Life Housing Contract.  All 1st and 2nd year undergraduate students are required to select one of the All-Access meal plans. All 3rd and 4th year undergraduate resident students are required to select one of the All-Access or Declining Balance meal plan options. Students select the desired meal plan through their Housing Contract. If no meal plan is selected, the student will be assigned the lowest meal plan applicable (based on standing and residence hall).

Meal plans are optional for 3rd and 4th year non-resident students. Any student that does not live on campus must submit a request each semester he or she wishes to have a meal plan. Many students take advantage of the convenience and value a meal plan has to offer.

What if I want to change or drop my Meal Plan?

Students can request to change a meal plan within the first two weeks of the semester.  Meal plan changes for the term will be reflected on student accounts and cards within five to seven business days.  Both resident and non-resident meal plan change request forms can be found on the Forms page.

All non-resident students who wish to cancel their meal plan, must do so in writing. Please submit the request to campuscard@luc.edu.

Can I carry meals over to the next semester?

No, all meals expire at the end of the semester.

May I eat in the Dining Hall even if I don't have a meal plan?

Yes, all guests who are not on a meal plan can pay the walk-in rates listed below.  Taxes are applied if paying with cash, credit or check.

Fall 2017 / Spring 2018 Walk-In Rates:

     •  Breakfast: $6.75 plus tax
     •  Lunch: $8.50 plus tax
     •  Dinner: $9.00 plus tax

Can I treat a friend to a meal?

You can always treat a friend or family member by using Dining Dollars, Rambler Bucks or Block Meal Plan.

Where is the Meal Plan Office Located?

Campus Card Office is online at CampusCard Office, or on campus at the Lake Shore Campus - Sullivan Center, Room 198 (773-508-2273) or at the Water Tower Campus - Corboy Law Center, Lobby (312-915-7756).

Dining Dollars and Rambler Bucks

What are Dining Dollars?

Dining Dollars are accepted as payment at any on-campus dining facility, including on-campus food courts and cafés. They are loaded right onto your Rambler card, so there is no need to carry around cash or another card! There is no minimum balance, over draft fees, or hassles!  Dining Dollars and Declining Balance funds carry over from semester to semester, but not academic year to academic year.  One Dining Dollar = $1.00.

How do I add Dining Dollars to my account if my balance starts to get low?

Simply visit the Campus Card office in the Sullivan Center, Suite 190 and let them know you would like to add additional Dining Dollars to your account.

Do Dining Dollars roll over to the next semester?

Dining Dollars and/or Declining Balance will continue to rollover from semester to semester, but not academic year to academic year.

Where can I view my Dining Dollar/Declining Balance?

You can view your balance at the Online Card Office which provides students, parents, faculty and staff 24-hour access to campus card accounts.

What are Rambler Bucks?

Rambler Bucks are the universal funds accepted at many of Loyola’s on and off campus partners including on-campus dining facilities. Rambler Bucks offer Loyola students, employees and other community members a convenient method of paying for goods and services such as books, printing, parking, vending, along with many other services.

Events and Nutrition

Where can I find out about upcoming events and promotions?

Like us on Facebook for updates on events, products and promotions! Receive info on events like: 

  • Themed lunch or dinner events throughout the semester in the Dining Halls
  • Nutrition tabling and chef demos
  • Various Meal Plan promotions such as free pizza for the semester or coupon books
  • Limited time offers across campus

How do I find out more about nutritional information?

The Healthy for Life wellness walls are located in Damen Dining Hall and Simpson Dining Hall.  They are packed with nutrition handouts and brochures for students to review. 

You can also visit our online menus to view daily items at our three residential dining halls.  Each item is assigned a Just4U nutrition icon that lets students know more about what they are eating.  This is an excellent way for students with special dietary needs or preferences to identify suitable menu options in advance.

For those who are calorie conscious, our Comparison Box and Nutritional Calculator helps determine which menu items are lower in calories, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium.
